Novice Friendly Crag A small, crag on a little fell above the South Lakes road. Lots of parking on a short stretch of the old road near Newby bridge. Meeting point: Levens Hall layby

This popular Limestone crag has a great outlook overlooking Ingleborough. With a huge choice of short routes on offer, an evenings visit will give you just a taster of what’s on offer. You have to pay to park at the farm so car sharing advisable. Meeting point: Levens Hall Layby
Our 1st venture into the higher crags. Another classic Langdale Crag. The steep scramble up the ghyll always feels hard, but the superb climbing is more than adequate compensation. Meeting point: Plumgarths layby
Several buttresses mostly with a big crag feel. About 35 minutes to walk in. Midges can be a problem some evenings. Meeting point: Layby on R on A6 1Km N of Morrisons

Just outside Clapham this mainly newly bolted bolted crag features sport routes mainly in the 6a+ grades. Quick drying and one of the best views in the Dales. Meeting point: Auction J36
Novice Friendly Crag The highest car park of the season, at the top of the Wrynose Pass. Both crags have immaculate rock and are well worth visiting, with Long Scar offering more routes in the easier grades. Meeting point: Plumgarths layby
